CSSA hosted the 2025 Parliamentary Advocacy Summit at Parliament House in Canberra, bringing together members, sector leaders, and parliamentarians from across the nation to engage in meaningful dialogue about justice, inclusion, and the common good.
Held between 28 and 29 October, the summit provided a vital platform to advocate for policies that uphold human dignity and strengthen the fabric of Australian society — especially for those most vulnerable and living on the margins.
A highlight of this year’s gathering was the “Journeys of Belonging” exhibition, hosted within Parliament House. Through powerful portraits and heartfelt stories, the exhibition celebrated the resilience and hope of people living on the margins in our communities and reminded us that belonging is not simply found — it’s built through compassion, connection, and care.
Over two days, participants explored key themes shaping the future of social services, including housing and homelessness, the real cost of delivering services, the gap between funding and delivery costs, and pathways to meaningful participation in community life. The summit offered an opportunity for members to share lived experience and reaffirm our collective commitment to building a fairer, more compassionate Australia.
CSSA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us — our members, partners, and parliamentarians — for walking alongside us in this mission of service and solidarity. Together, we continue to give voice to the values at the heart of Catholic social teaching and advocate for a society where everyone can flourish.
