Our advocacy promotes innovative solutions addressing complex social and economic issues affecting Australians today. We do so knowing no single cause or solution to poverty and disadvantage exists.
We work with governments and like-minded organisations to pursue sound policies and call out policies that adversely affect the poor, vulnerable, and those who serve them.
This submission draws upon the expertise and dedication of CSSA member organisations in promoting five recommendations to better support Australia’s early childhood education and care system including: priority investment to support the inclusion of all children; fair review of the Children’s Services Award and adjustments of the Award matched to appropriate staff-to-child ratios; transparency and streamlining of public reporting of regulator risk ratings for ECEC services; increasing regulatory follow-ups with ECEC services with a focus on child health and safety.
This submission addresses the Economic Reform Roundtable’s focus on productivity, economic resilience, and budget sustainability by highlighting a critical but often overlooked dimension of economic reform: the financial sustainability of Australia’s social services sector.
